Association vs. District Proposals – October 19, 2019

On Friday, October 18, after hours of waiting for a counterproposal, Park County RE-2 Superintendent Joe Torrez and board members read a statement from the District, as their counter offer to SPEA’s offer. The District rejected SPEA’s proposal for a neutral third-party fact finder, which would bring transparency to the District’s finances and the Park County community. They offered a counterproposal decidedly different and regressive than what SPEA offered. The District refused to schedule a meeting to review any input SPEA may have for the new proposal and walked out as SPEA tried to engage them in conversation. This was a “take it or leave it” ultimatum.
